Frankfurt Stock Exchange


Frankfurt stock exchange is Germany’s largest stock exchange among the seven stock exchanges. It contributes 90 percent of the total turnover. Frankfurt Stock Exchange is operated by Deutsche Börse AG. As the entity under public law, it ensures the smooth functioning of exchange trading in Frankfurt.

The Frankfurt stock exchange is equipped with the most recent, and advance technologies and it facilitates advanced electronic trading, settlement and information systems. Xetra is one of the major electronic trading platforms in the World. The Xetra electronic trading system facilitates 15 countries to trade on a single platform. This has made possible very high levels of foreign investment into the Frankfurt stock exchange, and it is believed that about half of all market participants are based outside Germany. As a result of the state-of-art technology, FSE is able to meet the rapidly growing requirements of cross-border trading. Since its launch in 1997, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange succeeded not only in fortifying its own competitive position, but it also created an attractive platform for foreign investors and market participants.

Today, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange is an international trading center. This is also indicated in the structure of its participants. Approximately 140 of around 300 market participants come from abroad.
